Looking for a Catholic prayer/discussion group both thought-provoking and spiritually enlivening? Please join us Thursday nights at 7:00 pm in Boland Hall as we pray and discuss authentic Catholic spirituality as taught by Monsignor Luigi Giussani, founder of the Communion and Liberation Movement (CL), warmly supported by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI and now in 70 countries.
Communion and Liberation is an ecclesial movement whose purpose is the education to Christian maturity of its adherents and collaboration in the mission of the Church in all the spheres of contemporary life. It began in Italy in 1954 when Mons. Giussani, moved by the need of showing Christ to youth, he established a Christian presence in Berchet High School in Milan with a group called Student Youth. Now known as CL (for short), it grew throughout Italy and the world.
We begin the group with a chant hymn, the Angelus and evening prayer from the breviary. We continue with a weekly reading and discussion, end with prayer and then social time at a favorite restaurant. All are invited to attend every Thursday 7pm at the Cathedral Basilica Bolland Hall for part or all of the evening.
